Retired Lieutenant Colonel to Share History of Ellsworth
Retired Lieutenant Colonel, George A. Larson, will join us at the Downtown Rapid City Public Library on Wednesday, May 16 to present about the history of Ellsworth Air Force Base and his latest book, Dakota Thunder, at our Lunch and Learn program from noon until 1 p.m.
Larson served as a strategic intelligence officer with the former Strategic Air Command and with the Defense Intelligence Agency. He received his Bachelor of Science in History from Iowa State University and his Master of Arts in History from the University of Stanislaus, in Turlock, California. He will also discuss how to research and prepare a book. Larson is the author of several books on military history, including Aerial Assault into Burma, The Road to Tinian, and The Superfortress and its Final Glory: The Korean Air War, The Cold War’s First Aerial Combat.
This program will be held upstairs at the downtown library located at 610 Quincy St. There is no charge to attend and all are welcome.
